Here’s what shoppers see.

Four real categories. Four real questions. One pattern: grounded answers, in brand voice, on the page where shoppers decide.

Will this fit through a standard doorway?

03 · The moat

The shopper says “slip-on.”
Your site says “hands-free.”

Premium brands invent their own vocabulary. “Hands-free shoes.” “Performance fabric.” “Fast-acting formula.” These terms are how merchants want their products described — they’re the language of the brand.

But shoppers Google what they already know. “Slip-on shoes.” “Breathable shorts.” “Energy supplement.” When a shopper lands on a PDP from a search like that, they need to immediately recognize the product is what they were looking for — in language they recognize.

The Shopper Language Map teaches PlainSaid both vocabularies. When a shopper asks “Are these slip-on shoes?” on a Kizik PDP, the answer naturally bridges both: yes, many shoppers call them slip-on shoes — Kizik calls them hands-free because the heel collapses so you can step in without using your hands. Both vocabularies preserved. Neither compromised.

The downstream benefit: when shoppers search using their own words, your product page answers in their words too. Good SEO is a natural consequence — not the goal.

Vocabulary bridging, not keyword optimization.
04 · Grounded in real data

We don’t guess what shoppers ask.
We pull it from Google, Bing, and Amazon.

For a single Halden Lounge Chair product. PlainSaid analyzes real autocomplete data for every product in your catalog. The questions Claude suggests aren’t theoretical — they’re the actual phrases shoppers type into search engines. Your PDP gets the answers before the question is asked.

05 · What you get

Every feature included on every plan.

No tiered feature gates. Pricing scales with volume, not with capability — because the small brand needs the same answer engine as the big one.

01

Auto-fill from product descriptions

Claude reads your existing Shopify product copy and drafts 4–6 starter Q&As per product. Edit and publish in minutes, not days.

02

AI gap analysis

Claude pulls real shopper search demand from Google, Bing, and Amazon — then tells you exactly what's missing from your PDP and how to fix it.

03

Product Groups

Combine colorway-split products (Athens 2 Black, Athens 2 White, Athens 2 Sand) into one knowledge base. Publish once. Every variant inherits.

04

Reference materials

Sizing charts, supplement facts, care guides, spec sheets. PlainSaid surfaces them inline in answers and publishes them as structured data.

05

“Pairs well with” upsells

Surface complementary products inside answers, naturally. No spammy upsell carousels — just the right product mentioned at the right moment.

06

Brand voice control

Restricted phrases, approved framings, trust signals. PlainSaid never goes off-brand. You set the rules, Claude follows them.

06 · How it works

Three steps. Live in an afternoon.

01

Drop the block

Add the “Ask a question” block to your product template in the Shopify theme editor. Style it once.

02

Build your knowledge base

Use Claude to auto-fill starter Q&As. Review, refine, add your brand voice and references.

03

Shoppers ask. PlainSaid answers.

Live on every product page. Grounded in your content. Indexed for search — Google and the AI engines running on top of it.

07 · SEO + AI search ready

Built for search — including the AI search engines reading it.

Every answer publishes as JSON-LD (FAQPage, isRelatedTo, subjectOf) on the Shopify product metafield. Standard structured data that Google — and the AI search engines reading it — can both understand. AI search isn’t a separate discipline; it’s search engines getting smarter. We just do that well.

Premium DTC brands in considered-purchase categories.

Trust-led

Pre-purchase safety questions, third-party testing, ingredient breakdowns — answered in your brand voice, not a regulator's.

Can I take this with my SSRI?

Apparel

Fit-sensitive

Sizing, fit, fabric, care, returns. The questions that drive 30% of return volume in DTC apparel.

Do these run small?

Beauty

Compatibility-first

Skin compatibility, ingredient deck, pregnancy safety, dermatologist-developed claims — surfaced where shoppers decide.

Is this fragrance-free?

Layer with vitamin C?

10 · Questions you may have

What shoppers don’t know, you’ll explain.
What merchants don’t know, we will.

Yes. PlainSaid is a theme app extension block — works with any Shopify theme that supports app blocks (every theme released since 2021).

The drawer block is 15 KB minified. Loads asynchronously. Doesn't block first paint. Performance impact is essentially zero.

14 days of full access. No credit card required during signup — Shopify handles billing. Cancel any time from your Shopify billing settings, no proration headaches.

Yes — extensively. Brand voice settings, restricted phrases (words/claims the AI must never say), approved framings (preferred substitutions), and trust signals (return policy, warranty, etc. the AI can weave into answers when relevant).

Every answer is grounded in your knowledge base. If the AI can't answer from your content, it shows a polite fallback — never invented information. You can see every gap in our gap analysis report.

PlainSaid lives on the PDP. Tidio/Inbox live in a chat bubble. Most merchants run both — PlainSaid handles pre-purchase questions where shoppers are, chat handles post-purchase support. They complement, not replace.

PlainSaid stores shopper questions (anonymous, no PII) and the AI's answer. We honor all three mandatory Shopify compliance webhooks (data request, customer redact, shop redact). Full policy: plainsaid.com/privacy.

Yes. Cancel from Shopify Billing. No proration — just stops billing at the end of the current period. Your data stays accessible during the period.
